Looking for Alaska
“How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!” to a margin note written in her loop-heavy cursive: Straight & Fast.”
– John Green: Looking for Alaska
Looking for Alaska is a coming of age story written by John Green. Miles is starting the year at a new school and he gets infatuated with Alaska, a girl who is hard to label or describe. A sudden tragedy at the middle of the novel really sets this book apart from other Young Adult novels. I love how John Green writes smart, funny and relatable teens. The question “How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!” is asked through the book and every time the characters give a different perspective. Alaska’s answer is left on a note: “Straight & Fast” and we are left alone to wonder what really happened on that tragic night.
This book cover was made for the challenge I started this year called #12covers1year. Every month I make a book cover based on the genre of the month. You can join me anytime by using the hashtag!
