I love looking at maps at the front of a great fantasy book. A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin was no exception.  I made my own version with a specific brief in my mind:  I wanted to create a map based on medieval traditions but the outcome should feel modern using vector graphics and handmade textures. The noble families in the books got their own city icons and coat of arms.
